Oven Baked Baby Back Ribs
Ingredients:
3 racks baby back ribs
4.5 tbsp salt
4.5 tbsp ground black pepper
3 tbsp chili powder
6 tbsp paprika
6 tbsp brown sugar
Mustard to coat the ribs
About half cup of Soda (any kind)
Directions:
- Combine salt, black pepper, chili powder, paprika, and brown sugar.
- Coat the baby back ribs evenly with mustard. (The mustard acts as in adhesive coating for the spices)
- Sprinkle dry rub over the ribs.
- Cover with foil and let it marinate in fridge overnight
- When ready to cook, preheat oven to 250 degrees Fahrenheit
- When done preheating, place ribs in oven UNCOVERED for 2 hours
- After 2 hours, remove ribs from oven and add about 3 to 4 tbsp of your favorite carbonated soda onto the ribs, then wrapped tightly in foil. (The soda helps to tenderize and add moisture to the ribs). Place in oven and bake for another 2 hours
- After 2 hours, check the internal temperature of the ribs. Ribs are best eaten with internal temperature of 180 – 200 degrees Fahrenheit. For a smaller rack of ribs, a total of 4 hours baking time should be enough. A larger rack of ribs can take up to about 6 hours of baking time.
This juicy baby back ribs recipe is great for hosting parties. Just place the ribs in the oven, and sides to serve along side can be potato salad, corn, burgers, hotdogs, watermelon, and salad for a well rounded and complete meal. Enjoy!
