Daly Buffet
Daly Buffet located in the foggy city of Daly City, CA.
This Asian buffet also has a griddle station and soup station. Here is what I tried:
Teppanyaki-style stir fry: You get to choose your selection of noodles, veggies, and meat and they stir fry it for you on the griddle. This was hearty and comforting, though it lacks the griddle flavor likely because they added too much soy sauce at the end. I would like this dish more if a little bit of salt was sprinkled instead of soy sauce

Rating: 3.5 out of 5
Malatang: Choose your selection of noodles, veggies, and meat, and they boil it in a soup broth of your choice. The spicy and numbing broth is good. The thai broth is way too salty. If you’re a fan of hot pots, then this one is definitely for you. It’s basically boiled flavored water and then boiling the ingredients. Minus one star because of the lack of quality in the broth ( I would like a bone broth made with real meat for flavor) but this is delicious and hearty

Rating: 4 out of 5
Sweet and sour chicken: This was not sweet and not sour. Batter was soft, and not freshly fried at all. (see the first image at the 12 and 1 o’clock position)
Rating: 2 out of 5
Lava buns: A semi sweet bun filled with salty and runny eggyolk. This is a classic Chinese dim sum dessert and is delicious!

Rating: 5 out of 5
Sushi Station: Rice looks old, avocados in the sushi turned browned. Needless to say, I passed on this one.
Rating: 0 out of 5 – not fresh
Dim sum: More like frozen dim sum. I would skip these and get dim sum at a real restaurant or take out (see image above)
Rating: 3 out of 5
Overall, the standout dishes are the malatang and the lava buns. Everything else is below average to average. For a buffet option, there are other options in Daly City, such as Supreme Pot and Sea Pot, that I enjoy going to, so I won’t be coming back here for a while.
Overall Rating: 3 out of 5
